Attend open events/individual or school group tours.

Parents/Carers/learners inform their school and Local Authority that they would like to attend Newfriars College.

Newfriars Admissions Team liaise with schools and the Local Authority to receive appropriate leaner information.

Admissions Process

Newfriars College check we can meet need and that we are the right place for each individual to learn.

Where possible/appropriate college staff will visit the young person in their current school.

College staff attend EHCP reviews, where appropriate, to help gather useful information around support strategies, hopes and aspirations for the future.

Offers and Next Steps

Offer letter sent out to confirm that we can meet the young person’s needs, and the Local Authority has agreed that they will be naming Newfriars in the Final Amended EHCP.

The Head of Pathway will provide further details on the curriculum and days/timings of the programme.

Each learner is offered a tailored transition to suit individual needs including taster sessions in classes with existing learners and the opportunity to start college a week earlier than existing learners to help ensure a smooth transition.
